About Knitted Fur
Everyone knows you can take wool, spin it into yarn and knit a sweater. Still, most people do not know that you can take mink, beaver or fox and spin it into yarn to knit a poncho, cape, jacket or scarf.
Now that the 17 year old patent has expired, manufacturer competition has made prices a lot more affordable. Here is a sample of the styles, and retail price ranges at Canadian Fur Company.
| Knitted Items | Price Ranges |
| Ponchos | $480 to $960 |
| Shawls or capes | $700 to $960 |
| Jackets | $425 to $1100 |
| Scarfs | $210 to $240 |
Knitted Fur Usage Occasions
In addition to the ‘conversation piece’ nature of these very reasonably priced accessories, knitted fur has become quite appropriate for a variety of usage occasions.
- a knitted fox poncho with fringes or jacket could be acceptable with jeans, slacks, or a long skirt for casual day time or evening wear, while
- a knitted mink poncho with fringes or ruffled flounce jacket could be appropriate for evening casual or formal occasions;
- a knitted mink straight shawl or cape could be worn from the car to inside the event, while
- a knitted beaver straight shawl could be kept worn in the family room during the winter or when the air conditioning temperature is too low in the spring or fall;
- and a knitted beaver or mink scarf would be a great accessory for a Blackglama® mink coat, a Loro Piana® fur trimmed cashmere or a Christ® shearling.
